About Herbs

Herbs can be used in many different ways, to flavor food, repel insects, to make teas, to use as medicines, for fragrant scents, in flower arrangements, and dried in potpourri.

Herbs can be grown in your garden, in containers or in window boxes. Most Herbs are easy to grow as long as you have the following ingredients:

  • Soil: Must be rich with nutrients and well-drained.
  • Sun light: Most herbs will require 8 hours of full sun.
  • Spacing: Make sure your herbs have enough space to grow.

If you are growing your herbs for cooking, choose a location that is close to your kitchen making it easy to grab some fresh herbs to add to your recipes.

If you are interested in having fresh herbs all year round consider growing you herbs in pots. Leave them outdoors in summer and bring them indoors in winter.
